Photo Shoot return to RAF Killadeas

This shoot I meet up with Tom Bailey who works at Lough Erne Yacht Club, he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the site and walked round pointing out buildings and their history. My approach for this shoot was still objectively but with all the different types of buildings I quickly realised I could not capture like Bernd & Hilla Becher in a systematic, tight crop and displayed into grids. The buildings are just too different and I have interiors to capture as well. However their concept of the relation between shapes and lines between buildings I still took on board, which consequently slowed me down to really think about the constructed of my images. I stuck to a standard lens to maintain continuity, also these areas couldn’t be shot with a greater focal length as there wasn’t the space to do so. I’m pretty happy with my images but Tom did mention there would be an opportunity to come back and capture the hangar with fewer items inside, which I think would help me get around the hangar and improve my shot of the window to correct the lens distortion. Some of the buildings were in golfed with so much ivy and foliage it was hard to make out and certainly didn’t pick up in camera which is disappointing but there isn’t a great deal I can do?
