My first shoot for this module took me to the former site of RAF Ballyhalbert. I used the same resources as my last module to locate my areas of interest http://www.ww2ni.com/countydownairfields.htm & http://www.livinglegacies1914-18.ac.uk/HostedSites/RAF100CommemorateEducateInspire/RAFAirfields/Ballyhalbert/. Then lastly good old-fashioned walking/snooping around, the landscape has changed greatly so was difficult to get access to some of the areas. I went around sunset time to give golden aesthetic to the sites, something I wanted to try from my last module.
Using the available light, I was able to play around with the shadows and high contrast from the sun. As the rays sat on the buildings and landscape I was capturing. Overall, I am quite happy with this shoot, I like capturing at this time of day it gives these sites a more positive look rather than a cold, eerie sense. I have tried to focus on the best angle for that particular building and how sits in the landscape around it, which works for me at the moment. For my next shoot I will go with the same method and see what happens.
