For my second shoot I headed to RAF Toome, I managed to get talking to local famer which he allowed me to wonder through his field. The farmer also pointed out couple of buildings which I didn’t realise that were used during the War so that was helpful. I tried going a similar time as previous shoot to try and remain consistent with the lighting, but the sun was just pouring in. I struggled with capturing the first building, bright blue skies and too much contrast from the sun didn’t give any dusky pinky tones that featured in my last shoot. I could have waited for the sun to go down a little but as this was my first recce of the site I was conscience getting around more than one building with good light. The other 2 images have some pleasant highlights from the sun that pick out some texture from the buildings. Similar to my last shoot I tried capturing the best angle of the building with the restraints of fences (couldn’t find the farmers for entry) and overall I’m pleased. Not sure how they will come together as a body of work though. I miss not capturing the interiors of these buildings but there’s always the issue of access but I will have a rethink if this is what I want to include in my work.
