Week 5 Three ‘Surfaces’
This week saw the introduction of a group exhibition, a publication and a workshop and were asked to submit:
- Five key words describing your practice / project.
Historic, Commemorate, Military, Landscape, Personal
- One sentence describing the aims of the work you might display.
To commemorate and record WW1 & WW2 airfield sites within Northern Ireland and the relationship between site and landscape.
- One sentence describing roughly where and what your display couldlook like.
For the moment online but for the future hopefully medium sized prints on a white walled gallery space.
I watched a recorded webinar hosted by Sarah Newton and she revealed that the 3 themes in which our work should fit were Narrating Identity, Expressions of Consequence and Elements of Abstraction. Initially I’m thinking where would mine fit? It could fit in expressions of consequence but I’m not sure if that fits my intent of commemoration but could certainly be interpreted if placed within that theme.
