FMP Project Development-3

After watching webinars from Falmouth’s Face 2 Face event. I was intrigued by Gary Mcleod’s presentation on Rephotography and Mark Klett, Bryon Wolfe’s presentation on works they had produced together. I felt greatly inspired to pursue this same route with my own work. I haven’t come across too many photographs of the airfields and buildings from WW2 in NI so I thought I would approach Ulster Aviation Society and RAF Museum (Hendon) for such archive imagery. Unfortunately, both organisations don’t hold very much Ulster Aviation have an image of Long Kesh hangar and Aldergrove. RAF Museum sent me over a short list images that they hold.

Ernie Cromie from Ulster Aviation Society did say that the War Memorial (NI) hold some aerial imagery of some of the airfield sites when they were under construction. I also may have access to aerial imagery of the sites after their use 1950s, but the airfields can still be recognised. At the moment I’m sure what I can do we this but will keep it on the back burner for now.
