Sorry the link is no longer avaiable please see images below. Using the same platform as previous module SquareSpace, I have created one single gallery presenting 3 airfield sites which total to 18 images. These sites include RAF Toome, RAF Ballyhalbert and RAF Newtownards. This work in progress sees all images cropped to a square … More Work In Progress
To finish off my WIP I returned to RAF Toome area, the weather was a bit cloudy than I wanted but the module is drawing to the end and I wasn’t sure if the weather would improve. I am away for the last 2 weeks of the module which isn’t ideal, but I am working … More Project Development-8
I returned to Ballyhalbert starting off at the control tower area. To get to this area I have to walk through original parts of the airfield which is home to a caravan site. I took a few photos around this area as I hadn’t explored this before. Looking at my edited photos I think this … More Project Development-7

For my second shoot I headed to RAF Toome, I managed to get talking to local famer which he allowed me to wonder through his field. The farmer also pointed out couple of buildings which I didn’t realise that were used during the War so that was helpful. I tried going a similar time as … More Project Development-3
My first shoot for this module took me to the former site of RAF Ballyhalbert. I used the same resources as my last module to locate my areas of interest http://www.ww2ni.com/countydownairfields.htm & http://www.livinglegacies1914-18.ac.uk/HostedSites/RAF100CommemorateEducateInspire/RAFAirfields/Ballyhalbert/. Then lastly good old-fashioned walking/snooping around, the landscape has changed greatly so was difficult to get access to some of the areas. … More Project Development-2
First World War Workshop I attended a WW1 workshop at Queens University Belfast hosted by Council for British Archaeology, Living Legacies and Home front Legacy. Although only 2 sites from WW1 are in NI (25 are in Ireland), I still found the presentations very interesting because I could still relate methodologies to capturing WW2 sites. … More Project Development-1
